Schedule prototyping/cancelling Gantt changes

If you need to ‘game out’ a scheduling/resourcing idea or try a few innovative solutions to a complex scheduling challenge, ensure you start with a Gantt view that you would be happy to roll back to if required. If your result looks good, you can save. If not, just one click and everything is cancelled - no need to remember all your actions or retrace your steps.

The Cancel Changes button appears on the Gantt whenever a change of any type has been made. Users have the option of using the Save button to confirm their changes or can click Cancel Changes to clear all changes and revert to the Gantt state when they started their session (i.e. the last state saved).

All changes to Gantt items in Schedule and Automation Gantt modes are included in the cancel action. In Schedule mode, adjusting duration or date of bookings or unavailabilities, creation or deletion of bookings or unavailabilities, or changes made in the right-hand sidebar are cancelled. In Automation mode, all suggestions are rejected on selection of the Cancel Changes button.

The button appears with or without the Gantt Sidebar (Schedule mode) or when the Floating Navigator is present (Automation mode):

A tooltip is displayed when hovering over the Cancel Changes button to inform the user of the number of unsaved changes that will be cleared on selection:

When you have cancelled changes successfully via the Cancel Changes button, the system confirms the cancellation:
