Using Saved Views
When you are working in the Gantt, you can save the view (complete with date range and all settings) for future use by yourself and others. Existing Saved Views can be opened, managed and downloaded for distribution.
If you would like to save your current Gantt view for future use, open the Saved Views menu and click Save As.
The Save View dialog box is displayed where you can give the saved view an appropriate name and select if it is to become your default Gantt view.
-
Relative - sets the saved view to always load the Gantt relative to today’s date. For example, if ‘Relative’ is selected and the current Gantt horizon is 6 months, then whenever this saved view is opened, the Gantt will always display from today’s date to 6 months in the future.
-
Fixed - sets the saved view to always load with the specified fixed start and end dates.
Click Confirm to save the new Gantt view.
When saved views already exist, they are displayed in the Open menu and in the Manage Saved View screens.
When you open an existing saved view, the Gantt Horizon will be displayed in accordance with the Relative/Fixed setting that was set when the view was created and saved. Views that were saved prior to v22.2.0 will always be ‘relative’ and open from the current date.
If you are currently viewing a saved view, it will be shown in brackets next to the ‘Save’ option and also shown in bold in the list of saved views shown on the right-hand side:
Clicking the Manage option displays the Manage Saved Views screen where all saved views are listed. Each view will show its Name, the Gantt Horizon start and end dates and if it is Fixed () or Relative (
).
You can click the Name to edit it and select the star icon to make any of the listed saved views the default Gantt view. If you no longer need any saved view, you can hover over it to display the delete (bin) icon which when clicked will delete the saved view from the list.
Click Save to save any changes made to the saved views listed.
